Justice for Eudes Pierre!
The New York Alliance stands in solidarity with the family of Eudes Pierre, a Black young man who was murdered by the NYPD in 2021. We are fighting for justice and accountability for this and every case of police violence!
What happened to Eudes Pierre?

Eudes Pierre, a 26-year-old Black young man, was shot and killed by the NYPD on December 20, 2021, while experiencing a mental health crisis. Pierre was shot ten times by NYPD Officers Peter Lan and Conrado Abreu-Gerez and died just minutes away from his home. His death was labeled a “suicide by cop” situation, despite the fact that he himself called 911 to get help.
In March of 2023, Attorney General Letitia James decided not to pursue criminal charges against the officers who killed Eudes Pierre. In November of 2024, the CCRB ruled that the officers acted “within NYPD guidelines.”
How are we fighting back?
The Alliance is working closely with the family of Eudes Pierre to get justice for his death. While no action can bring Eudes back, we can fight to make sure the officers who killed him are no longer allowed to wield deadly force with impunity, and we can fight to change our city’s policies to prevent more deaths.
Our demands:
- Fire and prosecute the officers who killed Eudes Pierre! These dangerous officers should not be allowed to wield the power of the NYPD with impunity, and they should be tried for murder.
- Remove police from mental health responses! Research and experience show that when police are called for someone experiencing a crisis, they often exacerbate feelings of distress, especially for people of color. Mental illness is not a crime, and no one should be seriously hurt or killed for being in crisis.
- Community control of the police now! The police must answer to the people, not the other way around. Learn more about our campaign for community control here.
Join the fight!
